Mike Haas, MD

Board Certified Ophthalmologist, Cataract and Comprehensive Ophthalmology Specialist

Dr. Michael Haas was born and raised in the Seattle area of Washington state.  He is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in both comprehensive ocular care and cataract surgery to provide his patients with meaningful and long-lasting excellent vision. Dr. Haas developed his passion for ophthalmology and eye care during medical school at the University of Washington in Seattle. He was fascinated by how both medical and surgical interventions could preserve and, in some cases, enhance one’s vision. He finished an internal medicine internship in San Antonio, TX prior to completing his ophthalmology residency training at Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN.

After finishing residency in 2005, Dr. Haas first practiced with Eye Associates of New Mexico at their Farmington, NM location.  He spent so many of his weekends hiking the San Juan mountains near Durango, CO that he felt he simply needed to live in Colorado to be closer to the mountains.  He and his wife Janna finally moved to Colorado Springs in 2008 and ultimately founded and worked at Haas Vision Center for roughly 17 years. At this time, Dr. Haas welcomes the opportunity to join Skyline Vision Clinic where he can continue to provide medical and surgical excellence.

Over the years, Dr. Haas has really learned that taking care of his own health allows him to be his best version for patient care. In his free time, he can often be found running on local trails, walking or hiking along with his dogs, wife and daughter. He enjoys traveling for new culinary and cultural experiences. He is an avid skier and enjoys golfing and other outdoor activities.

Dr. Haas believes that vision is the most important sense, and he strives to keep his patients seeing well through all phases of life.
