Dana Reilly Hill, OD

Optometrist

Dr. Hill learned about the healthcare field and human visual system at a very young age. She grew up working in her mother’s ophthalmology practice on both the administrative and the patient care sides. With this comprehensive background, Dr. Hill approaches treatment from all angles. She places importance on educating patients on their vision and eye health. When formulating treatment plans, Dr. Hill discusses available treatment options and considers medical and non-medical variables such as systemic health, finances and lifestyle.

As a psychology major in college, she enjoyed learning about the brain and nervous system. In optometry school, she completed an advanced studies certificate in neuro-ophthalmic disease. This allowed her to learn neuro-imaging, diagnosis, treatment and management of neurological disorders. During Dr. Hill’s training, she applied this knowledge clinically by co-managing patients with neuro-ophthalmologists, neurosurgeons and residency-trained optometrists in the neuro-ophthalmic disease specialty.

Most of Dr. Hill’s externship training focused on ocular disease and co-managing pre- and post-operative patients with surgeons and other medical providers.  She enjoys working as a team with other clinicians when treating and managing patients who have systemic illnesses that affect the visual system.

Outside of the office, Dr. Hill enjoys hiking, camping, horseback riding and cooking with her husband and her friends. She also enjoys visiting her family in Philadelphia and Texas.
