Laser-based Cataract Surgery

As an alternative to our standard cataract surgery, we offer laser-based cataract surgery. Also called blade-free cataract surgery; this process uses the revolutionary LenSx® femtosecond laser to provide cataract patients another option for clear vision. The LenSx system uses a computer-controlled laser to make corneal incisions, soften the cloudy cataract lens and remove it – all based on a detailed 3-D image of the eye.

Once the cloudy cataract lens has been removed with the laser, a new Intraocular Lens (IOL) can be implanted. Our doctors will work with you before surgery to determine the type of IOL that will work best for your vision goals and lifestyle.
