Dr. Matthew Chang, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery. Over several decades of practice, he has performed more than 80,000 procedures, including over 40,000 cataract surgeries and 20,000 vision correction procedures. This depth of experience, combined with his commitment to advanced surgical technology and personalized care, allows Dr. Chang to provide each patient with an individualized approach to achieving their best possible vision.
Originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Chang earned his undergraduate degree from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He then completed a dual degree in medicine and business administration, with a focus on health economics, through the Medical Scholars Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Chang completed his ophthalmology residency at Kresge Eye Institute in Michigan, where his peers selected him to serve as Chief Resident during his final year. He continued his specialized training at the University of Arizona, completing a fellowship in cornea, refractive surgery, and external disease. Throughout his training and career, Dr. Chang has participated in research involving refractive surgery, cataract surgery, and glaucoma.
As the owner and medical director of both Skyline Vision Clinic and Skyline LASIK, Dr. Chang is an accomplished ophthalmic surgeon with extensive experience in cataract, corneal, and refractive surgery. His depth of surgical expertise, commitment to advanced technology, and personalized approach to care have earned the trust of patients throughout Southern Colorado. He is also highly regarded by ophthalmologists and optometrists throughout the region, many of whom entrust their own patients to Dr. Chang for specialized surgical and medical eye care. When not in the office, Dr. Chang participates in a variety of sports such as golf, tennis and snowboarding. He also enjoys traveling and trying new foods. He loves experiencing everything Colorado has to offer with the beautiful women in his life: his wife, Lisa, and their two daughters.
